The Intensive English Program at Lone Star College - Kingwood offers four levels of academic ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) in Oral Communication, Writing, and Reading skills. Grammar is covered in Oral Communication and Writing classes. In addition, the program offers four levels of ESOL Communication courses. Classes are offered during the day and in the evening. Students must take the COMPASS ESL for placement.

ESOL for Communication Improvement

These classes are for students who wish to learn and improve their English for their work and other daily activities. This program has four levels. Each course is integrated, which means that students improve their grammar, speaking, listening comprehension, writing, reading and vocabulary in the same class.

Academic ESOL

Kingwood College Intensive English Program is starting a new academic ESOL curriculum in Spring 2008. This program is for students who wish to learn and improve their English for for academic purposes or daily activities. The new program has four levels of oral communication, writing, and reading.
